Being a nomad

I have 2 pieces of carry on luggage coming to ~25 kilos (55 lbs) including 2 computers and an iPad that I use for work.
I have to be very conscious and deliberate of what I want, it has to be a "Fuck yes" item because that means I would have to remove something else. The key, like any of the fashion gurus would say, you really only need a few pieces that go well with each other which could then be mix and matched. I'm currently at ~60 clothing items which includes 3 Blazers, 2 vests, dress shirts, tango pants, relaxed pants, and shirts. 1 x heels, 2 x leading, daily shoes, trainers, house slippers. 2 computers, iPad, chargers, headphones, and a few other odds and ends. |
Why did you become a nomad?Like everyone, I was ready to get out and explore once things opened up after COVID so I did a test run of travel and found that I liked being on the go. So, I decided to go for it and it has been amazing since.
How do you pick the citiesIt's a mix of tango events, friends telling me that I should go somewhere or come visit them, or just going for the fun of it.
Where do you stay?Again depending on why I'm in a city I'll stay at a friends if I'm invited (any offers ;) ), AirBnbs, and Hotels
Favorite cityOf course, I'm biased and I have to say Buenos Aires for the tango but of course I love the city and culture. After that, so far it is Paris and Rome for tango, the city feel, history, walkability, and energy.

Where's all you stuffWhen I left San Fransisco I made the decision to get rid of everything. Unfortunately due to my timing that I gave myself I ended up throwing away everything. While it was an incredbily hard choice to throw essentially my entire adult life of stuff away I'm so glad I did it! To not have to worry about:
At this point I miss the bed I had picked with a weighted blanket. I've slept on beds and couches so this is what I miss the most.
