The Dancer
I started dancing in 2007 at Arizona State University. Thanks to my awesome teacher Daniela Borgialli I got hooked! I loved being part of a community and of course as I grew into tango I really understood what an amazing world wide community it is! I've lived and danced in Phoenix, New York City, San Francisco and now of course the world is my community as a nomad. I've organized a marathon, milongas, praticas, DJ'ed, enhanced communities, and more! I love being a social dancer having the chance to meet so many wonderful people and engage with them on and off the dance floor. To have the ability to be in any community, even if you don't know the language, and be able to dance your heart out...wow what an amazing experience!
The question "what do you love/like about tango", ha it's like asking if I like breathing! There are so many layers to tango that when I start talking about it I fall into a rabbit hole and diverge. It's all encompassing in so many ways in my life. For example, it's one of the reasons I became a nomad knowing that no matter what I would have tango: a community, a support system, instant friends, artistry, culture, music, and...and...and!

Of course this is my default and I love it. The ability to be creative with another in the music, movement, and moment.
I love the trust and care that a follower allows for when I dance with them. I am here to take care of you and keep you safe. My goal is to try and be musical and offer room for my partners to play. I love the play, I'm not here to push someone around but rather to have the conversation. Tell me (with your movement) where you want to go and what you want to do! Be the strong and confident person you are no matter your skill level, show your creativity and I'll show mine! |
The Follower
I've been following since...umm maybe the beginning in some form or another but I feel that I really started feeling comfortable with it in my San Francisco years so 2015-2021.
I purchased my first heels in March of 2022. I was afraid to walk let alone follow or even lead but to my surprise the walking was fine and the following was everything I had thought it might be with the ability to play with the musicality and be more intricate with my foot work. To my surprise, as a leader in heels, I feel and have been told that I feel great. As with following, I have the ability to get so much of the musicality that I offer my followers but they don't often take so I get to revision it! |
